Good morning, westies. Today weāre looking at events between the 25th of February, and the 3rd of March.
Did you know: On the 3rd of March in 1854, Australia's inaugural telegraph line commenced operations between Melbourne and Williamstown (Cheers, Williamstown Historical Society).
Update: Best Burger in Western Melbourne?
So as you might know by now, Iām on a quest to find the best burger in the western suburbs. You guys have been giving some great suggestions to add to the list.
Here are a few of the email suggestions that readers have sent in.

So far, we have the following suggestions:
Good Good Burger (Maidstone)
8Bit (Footscray)
Barbarian Brewing (Kingsville)
BAM Street Food (Altona)
Sideshow Burgers (Williamstown)
Backstreet Burgers (Newport)
Stanās Grill (Spotswood)
The list is shaping up nicely, and my āmust eatā list just keeps getting longer! Iāve even added a few more spots, but I know there are still plenty of hidden gems out there.
If youāve got a go-to burger joint that hasnāt been mentioned yetāor if you can vouch for any of the ones already on the listālet me know!
The ultimate winner will be crowned and awarded the legendary Burger Trophy. The Great Burger Quest of the West continuesāstay tuned for updates as I dig in!
Local Trivia
š³ Last Weekās Trivia š³
Which park in Melbourne's western suburbs is home to the Living Museum of the West, Australia's first ecomuseum?
The correct answer was, of course:
D) Pipemakers Park
Originally based in Footscray, the Living Museum grew beyond its small premises and, with support from Arts Victoria, relocated to a refurbished industrial site. Since 1988, it has been housed in former bluestone industrial buildings at Pipemakers Park, Maribyrnong, thanks to a $2 million Australian Bicentenary grant.
Now leased from Parks Victoria, the venue features a visitor and research center, staff offices, and a large exhibition space used for exhibitions, concerts, performances, and community events.

We will credit the Williamstown Historical Society again for this question.

Local Business Recommendation
Iāll use one of my recommendations this week.
I recently went to buy a last-minute valentineās gift from Fancy on Ferguson in Williamstown. The store offers a delightful selection of gifts and homewares. I purchased a bouquet of flowers that were fresh and beautifully arranged. The staff were really helpful, friendly and attentive. They had the experience enjoyable.
